The Details
Removing the polyester changes how the whole towel handles water. Cotton is a cellulose fiber that takes up moisture readily, while polyester absorbs very little. In an all-cotton towel, the base fabric works alongside the loops rather than only anchoring them. Cotton also gains strength when wet, which suits a product that spends its working life damp and goes into the wash that way.
The yarn is ring-spun, so the twist is added gradually as the cotton is drawn into a fine strand on a spindle. That builds a stronger, smoother yarn than open-end rotor spinning does, and it keeps an all-cotton towel from feeling coarse. The dobby border is woven into the cloth on the loom rather than sewn on, so it lasts as long as the towel and gives a stack on the shelf a finished look.
For bulk buyers, the trade-off is dimensional stability. Without a polyester backbone, cotton tends to shrink and relax more over a long commercial wash rotation. This line is the better fit where the hand of the towel is the priority. A blended line is the better fit where keeping exact dimensions through the most cycles matters more.
